Madeleine Selman

"My works invite us to explore our essence and connect with the stories we carry in our souls."
Madeleine Selman is a Cuban artist based in Barcelona, whose work is immersed in the world of abstract art. Since the beginning of her career in 2021, she has used painting as a medium to express her Afro-Cuban roots and the emotions that arise from her personal experience. A law graduate from the University of Havana, Madeleine found in art a passion that transcends her academic training.
His creative process is a deep and visceral exploration, where each brushstroke is a manifestation of his feelings and thoughts. Through mixed media, he creates textures, superimpositions and contrasts, breaking with the traditional and giving life to unique and thought-provoking works. The influence of abstract expressionism is evident in his use of a vibrant palette that includes red, black, white, blue, yellow, pink and gold, colors that reflect the energy and joy of Afro-Cuban culture.
Among his most outstanding works is the collection "Los Orishas", in which each piece is a tribute to these deities, the result of a meticulous study and emotional connection. His works, such as "El mundo al revés" and "Oshun, Yemayá y yo", offer a space for interpretation and contemplation, leaving the viewer room for reflection.
